With vote expected this week, N.C. U.S. Senate candidates weigh In on GOP COVID-19 relief bill

After weeks of stalled talks on Capitol Hill, the U.S. Senate is gearing up to vote on a Republican-crafted coronavirus relief bill later this week. However, Democratic leaders already say the bill is going nowhere. Among other things, the plan includes more than $100 billion for schools plus billions of dollars for a vaccine, testing, and farmers. It also provides litigation protections for businesses plus funding for a $300-per-week federal enhancement of unemployment insurance - that is less than the $600-per-week allocation that expired several weeks ago.
