Seven months into the economy-walloping COVID-19 pandemic in North Carolina, unemployed workers and families with children should soon see more government assistance thanks to $1 billion in coronavirus aid the state enacted this month. But it’s unclear how soon the money will reach everyone, as the state agencies tasked with issuing the money are still setting up the systems to make that happen.
