Expected handwashing rise not reflected in surveys in Australia, U.S.

There has been no large increase in Australians washing their hands since this time in 2019, according to a survey. The Food Safety Information Council (FSIC) said as handwashing was a major component of a national campaign to reduce the risk of catching COVID-19, the lack of improvement was a “considerable surprise.” Research was conducted nationally online by Omnipoll in late August among a sample of 1,232 people aged 18 years and older.
