House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson released the following statement in honor of World Food Day:

"Food is crucial to domestic and global security. This year’s World Food Day come as our food system is under a lot of stress. We’ve seen farmers, farm workers, ranchers, and food workers rise to the challenges of a pandemic, flooding, wildfires, storms, and other disruptions. World Food Day is a reminder that it’s not enough just to respond to these crises each time they happen. We have to do the hard work to strengthen our food and agriculture system so it’s more resilient and better able to respond to challenges. I am committed to working with my colleagues in Congress to make sure farmers, ranchers, consumers, and the entire food system has the tools needed to succeed.”
