Turkey farmers could face declining sales with pandemic forcing people to change holiday plans

Turkey farmers are worried about Thanksgiving this year. Many are concerned about an oversupply of birds as demand declines due to smaller family gatherings because of the coronavirus pandemic. “I think there’s a fear to the COVID Thanksgiving for folks. Anything from some folks are fearful about being in a crowd picking their turkey up, other people are very sad that they’re not going to be with their family. I’ve heard a lot of that especially from some elderly folks,” Beverly Pounds of Pounds' Turkey Farm in Leechburg said.
