Money from agricultural exports doesn’t just go to farmers, there’s a large chain of people involved in that process who all benefit. These people, whose jobs depend on ag exports, are considered a multiplier—a reflection of the amount of economic activity and jobs generated by ag exports. USDA’s Agricultural Trade Multipliers data product provides estimates about the effect of trade in farm and food products on the U.S. economy. The most recent data is from 2018.
