11/8 COVID testing event at Nash Coop Extension

NC Cooperative Extension and DHHS have partnered together to offer farmworkers an opportunity to be tested before returning home.  Growers, farmworkers, seasonal labor and extended families are welcome. Registration NOT required. Walk-ups are welcome. Quarantine housing available.

Date: Sunday, November 8, 2020
Time: 12:00 - 3:00pm
Location: Nash County Ag Center (1006 Eastern Ave, Nashville NC)

Who will be on the ground:
• OIC will be doing the testing
• Ricardo Garcia (Outreach Coordinator for Rural Health Group who will help provide translation and education services)
• Lori Elwell (Community Health Worker for Access East who can help with translation and wrap-around support)
• Blanca Borcequin (Community Health Worker for Southeastern)
• Roberto Rosales (Farmworker Health and Safety Educator for Cooperative Extension)
What: Agricultural community testing event (farmworkers, growers, and their families)
• Travel kits for departing farmworkers will also be handed out (attached is the departure insert in these kits, which will be in Spanish)
• PPE distribution and educational materials
• Pending: food truck
• Pre-registration is not required, but we’d appreciate it if you’re able to tell us how many people would like to get tested:
