Farmers diversifying or expanding their operations can apply for a mini-grant from WNC Ag Options, which helps offset farmers’ risk of trying new ventures. The $3,000 and $6,000 grants are funded annually by the N.C. Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. “We are extremely impressed with the innovation and resourcefulness that Western North Carolina farmers exhibit as they improve production efficiencies and continually advance their operations through diversifying and enhancing current operations,” said Bill Teague, Chairman of the N.C. Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
