From afar, North Carolina’s 2020 voting trends look similar to the map in 2016.  Western North Carolina, Asheville aside, remained Republican. The rural, majority Black counties in the Northeast went for Joe Biden. Major cities backed Democrats and their surrounding counties favored conservatives. Robeson County, the home of the Lumbee Tribe, once again supported Trump. Biden outperformed 2016 Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton by more than two points...
