It has been a very fruitful week. While various organizations released more information/data on continuous growth of U.S ag exports to China, China experienced “Double Eleven” shopping festival (similar to Black Friday in the US) on November 11th. There is no surprise that the transaction amount on online-shopping platforms hit a new high and the sales of imported products increased 47.3% on Taobao.com (Alibaba Group). U.S. imports ranked second in terms of imported products.

This week we visited two shows in Shanghai, 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) and Food & Hospitality China (FHC). CIIE expanded its exhibition area of imported food & ag products from 60,000 square meters to 90,000 square meters. FHC attracted over 140,000 visitors! We were excited to expand our network of Chinese buyers/importers while promoting North Carolina’s ag and food products. In a visit with Jiangsu High Hope Group in Nanjing this week, they expressed strong interests in NC lumber and muscadine grape natural supplement products.
