Source: NCSU COOPERATIVE EXTENSION, 11/12/20 Tobacco meetings in 2021 will look and feel a little different
than in years past, at least those planned for the early part of the year. Each
grower meeting will be held in a virtual format (via Zoom) and will largely
feature discussion topics that are focused to specific needs/topics of interest
put forth by growers and Extension agents during each event. Attendance
for our virtual Extension meetings is completely voluntary, but it is strongly
encouraged because current production topics will be addressed. These “virtual” county meetings are currently being scheduled and can be found in our Events Portal. Be sure to check with you local
County Extension agent for additional information and the Zoom meeting link. Tobacco farmers should be aware that GAP training will NOT be a
component of each meeting. Instead, growers in North Carolina will receive GAP
training through GAP Connections (online or mail-in options are available).
Additional information can be found in the attached flyer from GAP Connections
(click link below). GAP Training Newsletter The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service looks forward
to serving our clientele as we continue to navigate our situation in 2021!
