Several terms are being bandied about in agriculture these days – sustainability, transparency, traceability. All have high aims, but perhaps the key to the first two would be the third, which is creating the ability to verify all parts of the process of raising food and feed. For that, there's one technology that may hold that promise – blockchains. "We're creating a greater degree of traceability and sustainability in the seed to sale pat of the supply chain," says Kieren James-Lubin, president and CEO of BlockApps.
