Source: NCSU COOPERATIVE EXTENSION, 11/30/20 We’ve been working hard to refresh most of our website pages. Things change – we’re keeping up so you can too! What’s changed? We’ve reorganized the menu and animal
food safety pages to include the most relevant Food Safety
Modernization Act (FSMA) and food safety plan information like:
- The
Preventive Controls for Animal Food (PCAF) rule,
- Definitions,
- Exemptions,
- Current
Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP),
- Food
safety plans,
- Hazard
analysis,
- Preventive
controls,
and, most importantly,
- how
to Get
Help.
These pages provide important information that is helpful for
developing a food safety system for regulatory compliance. Relevant factsheets
are also included on these pages or can be accessed in the Publications &
Factsheets menu tab. What’s new?Our newest pages highlight definitions of
terms that come up frequently in animal food safety discussions and provide
more information about CGMP, food
safety plans, and PCAF
exemptions. On top of the new PCAF pages we’ve added, we decided to include specific pages that focus on Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) and Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food. Extension programs and training opportunities for animal food
safety, feed milling and extrusion are now under the Programs
& Training menu tab. More
Resources will point you in the direction of external webinars and
virtual meetings hosted by trade associations, industry or other academic
institutions that might be of interest to feed, pet food and ingredient
processors in North Carolina. Check out the latest continuing
education courses and webinars! For more information, click here.
