As COVID-19 cases rise across the country, many rural hospitals are not equipped to handle a surge. “Unfortunately, I most certainly think that we're at a crisis point right now,” says Alan Morgan, CEO of the National Rural Health Association. He says rural hospitals are built for primary care and general surgeries, not pandemic surges.
