As federal deadline nears, state refigures on COVID money

The state is up against an end-of-year deadline to spend more than $3.6 billion in federal coronavirus money, and the governor’s office has asked state agencies for a final wish list. Among the asks: $6.2 million for cold storage vaccine costs, anything the Department of Agriculture can get to help local food banks and $3 million for the North Carolina Symphony.
