China market update

China’s imports of U.S ag products continue to grow especially corn, soybeans and pork, etc. And there is a big chance that the result will meet with the phase-1 agreement in 2020.

U.S-China Business Council’s Board and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi started a dialogue via video conference earlier this week. USCBC President Craig Allen appealed to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, saying that U.S. companies expect the two countries to start negotiations on the second phase of the trade agreement immediately after the new U.S. President takes office on January 20th next year. Wang Yi responded that the second phase of the trade agreement negotiations will still be led by China’s Vice Premier Liu He.

Finally, it is unusual that different provinces in China decided to have different winter school holiday dates this year due to the concerns of pandemic. And some northern provinces announced that school holiday will start from as early as January 1st
