New livestock agent starts at N.C. Cooperative Extension

Michelle Hartman was the first-place winner at the Dec. 10 annual 4-H Gingerbread House decorating competition with her gingerbread 'village.’ Kendra Phipps is the new Livestock Agent for N.C. Cooperative Extension of Stokes County. Phipps was raised on a stocker and backgrounding operation in Piney Creek, where she was first exposed to agriculture. Though she was raised on a cattle operation, Phipps was not interested in pursuing an agricultural career until she enrolled in an agriculture class in high school.
