New Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loans: How to qualify and apply

Update December 23, 2020: The President has signaled he will not sign the stimulus bill without larger direct payments to Americans. If that effort is successful and he signs the bill, the SBA has ten days to issue regulations. That means it is unlikely small business owners will be able to apply for the new PPP loans until January 2021.

As of December 22, 12:30 a.m. ET, the House and Senate have passed the stimulus bill that includes additional PPP loans. The bill is headed to President Trump for his signature.

More PPP loans, EIDL grants, Pandemic Unemployment benefits and other small business relief are coming soon. Here we do our best to explain the legislation that includes a new round of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans some are referring to as “PPP 2.0”.
