A line from one of my favorite songs by Lady A says, “You will notice me, I’ll be leaving my mark like initials carved in an old oak tree.” I’m reminded of that song as we look toward leadership changes in Washington, D.C., that will take effect in 2021. No single person has left their mark on agriculture like Kansas Senator Pat Roberts who cast his last vote in a career that spans 40 years and thousands of hours in service of farmers.
