U.S. rejoins Paris climate accord

One of the many executive orders that President Biden signed on his first day in office allows the U.S. to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord. In an effort to reduce their carbon emissions, nearly every country in the world joined the Paris Agreement in 2016. Former President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the agreement back in 2017. This is President Biden's first major action to tackle the climate crisis. The U.S. is the world’s second largest emitter of greenhouse gases. China takes first place.
