The Golden LEAF Community-Based Grants Initiative (CBGI) has launched in 13 Western North Carolina counties. Grants are typically limited to 1 to 3 projects per county and total no more than $1.5 million per county. A kickoff webinar will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 1-4 p.m. CBGI focuses on projects that address agriculture, workforce preparedness and education, economic investment and job creation, and community vitality. Funds will be awarded for projects that “move the economic needle” in a community through job creation, workforce preparedness and education, and agriculture.

The Western Prosperity Zone includes: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, Swain and Transylvania counties. For more information, email CBGI@goldenleaf.org or call 252-442-7474.
