 BrightFarms, a New York-based packaged salads company, has announced an April opening for its new 280,000-square-foot greenhouse facility in Etowah near the French Broad River. Once in full production, the facility is expected to produce more than 2 million pounds of leafy greens each year, including spinach, arugula and baby lettuces, without the use of pesticides.
