The USDA predicted that in the 2020/21 marketing year, China would import 24 million metric tons of corn from the world, and U.S. corn may take about 83% of China's corn import orders.

China’s national economy continued to recover steadily from January to February in 2021, and market demand recovered significantly.

From January to February, the total retail sales of consumer goods were US$1072.56 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33.8%. China’s economic growth rate in the first quarter is expected to accelerate to more than 15%.

While the second-wave of COVID-19 is over in China, all localities gradually eased restrictions. For example, Beijing has canceled the requirement for nucleic acid certificates for entering and returning to Beijing. Most of major trade show and conferences will be carried out as planned this year including the ones that were being postponed in the beginning of the year.

U.S Embassy in Beijing has initiated a new service to allow Visa applications from major Chinese importers and investors who need to travel to the U.S. before the travel ban is lifted. Visitors will need to quarantine for 14 days in a third country before entering the U.S.. We see this as a move towards the ease of travel restrictions step-by-step.
