Story Date: 3/23/2021

Our annual Keeping the Farm Workshop is a great opportunity for Wake County farm and forest landowners to learn about topics related to their concerns and interests for their property. Ensure your farm and forest land stays in the family for generations to come! If you missed the Workshop this year, see below for presentation slides and videos from this year's Keeping the Farm Workshop.

Due to COVID-19, we are unable to hold an in-person Keeping the Farm (KTF) Workshop this year, so the Wake Soil and Water Conservation District has decided to host its first virtual KTF event! The workshop will be streamed live through YouTube on Wednesday, March 24, from 1–4 p.m., or you can watch the presentation recordings here on our website later at your convenience.

On the day of the event, just click play on the embedded video above to watch the livestream. If you would like to set a reminder for yourself, just click on the "Set reminder" button in the lower, left corner of the video.

Topics for this year's workshop include:
Welcome: Wake County Commissioners Vickie Adamson and Matt Calabria
Property Tax Update: Mishele Lord and Braxton Williford, Wake County Tax Administration
Farm Service Agency Programs: Larry Adams, USDA Farm Service Agency
Estate, Gift and Capital Gains Tax Changes: Jason Page, Law Office of Jason R. Page
Conservation Options for Your Farm: Leigh Ann Hammerbacher, Triangle Land Conservancy
