Last Chance: Targeting Excellence 2021 Scholarships

The 2021 Targeting Excellence Scholarship cycle has opened for submission. This scholarship opportunity is available for undergraduate and graduate College of Agriculture students enrolled in classes by September 1, 2021. 

The application package includes a written or video response to one of the following essay questions:

1.     What is one positive change you see in Food Animal Production as a result of the challenges faced by producers during the COVID-19 pandemic?

2.     In your opinion what is one issue due to the COVID-19 pandemic that food animal production is struggling to address? What is your solution to this issue?

Applicants must also submit a personal statement of 500 words or less on their personal career goals, two references, and a digital copy of their transcript. Applicants have the option to submit their resume and one additional supporting document (in addition to the essays).

Applications are due Friday April 2, 2021 and awards will be announced April 29, 2021.

ICYMI: Stand Up 4 Grain Safety

This week, the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) teamed up with the Grain Handling Safety Council and the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), to offer their annual grain safety webinar series, Stand Up 4 Grain Safety. The week-long series focused on:

  • a kick-off event,
  • near-miss reporting,
  • the impact of grain quality on safety,
  • bin safety, and
  • emergency action plans.

The webinars were recorded and will be available on the Stand Up 4 Grain Safety website, along with the resources for each topic.

Participating companies and individuals are eligible for certificates of participation.
