 The North Carolina SweetPotato Commission is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. They spell "sweetpotato" as one word to "align with the scientific spelling and to avoid confusion with the white potato," according to the commission. The Sweetpotato Commission, obviously, wants everyone to eat more sweet potatoes - the state's official vegetable.
