To create good fertility recommendations for North Carolina truffle growers, we need more data!!! So, in cooperation with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Agronomic Division and the North American Truffle Growers Association, we are collecting soil samples and the information needed to create recommendations just for our state. If you have a truffle orchard in North Carolina, or have a site picked out to start one, please participate! And if you send in your samples between now and Thanksgiving, they won’t cost you anything. Here’s the link to the page with all the information you need to collect a sample and submit the information. It even includes a video on proper soil testing in a truffle orchard.
