SCPA hires John Campbell as State Affairs Director

John G. Campbell is a native of Greenville, MS. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Business Administration from Delta State University in 2004. In 2006, he joined the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) and during his twelve years at MDAC, he progressed through the agency and held several positions, including State Entomologist, Director of the Bureau of Plant Industry and Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce. As Deputy Commissioner one of his main assignments was managing the department's legislative priorities. In April 2018, he moved to Washington, D.C., to join the staff of United States Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. During this time, he provided leadership on a wide range of policy areas, including agriculture, environment, energy, telecommunications and economic development. John left Washington to serve as the State Director of USDA Rural Development for Mississippi. John leverages his broad experience in agricultural and environmental administration and policy development, along with extensive government, industry and constituent relationships.
