Rocky Run Farm, a family-owned farm in Mebane, was recently awarded an NC AgVentures grant, designed to fund innovative farming initiatives throughout North Carolina. The grant will be used to create an on-farm poultry processing to efficiently process ducks, chickens and turkeys. Owners Isaiah and Whitney Allen bought the 10-acre lot that has grown into Rocky Run Farm in 2012. The couple previously lived in Hillsborough, but gradually moved to Mebane after buying the farmland off Hebron Church Road.
