ON FARM HAY STOCKS On farm hay stocks totaled 190,000 tons as of May 1, 2021, up 6% from the 180,000 tons reported the same time last year.

WINTER WHEAT Winter wheat production in North Carolina is expected to total 19.1 million bushels for 2021, down 9% from the 21.0 million bushels produced in 2020. Yield per acre at 53 bushels is down 7 bushels per acre from last year’s estimate of 60.
