House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott issued the following statement regarding the cyberattack on meat supplier JBS:

“The recent cybersecurity attack on one of our country's largest meat processors is deeply concerning to me,” said Chairman David Scott. “This cowardly hacking of our critical infrastructure, of food, energy, and financial systems must be stopped now."

"We must find out if the Russian government is involved, for as we know, the hacking of our critical food and energy systems has come from Russia. And, we must hold Russia accountable to helping us find out who it is in Russia that is responsible for these attacks on our great nation."

"I will be working closely with my partners at USDA and President Biden to get to the bottom of this.  A secure and resilient food and agricultural supply chain is critical to the nation’s welfare and national security.”
