As North Carolina plans how it will address air quality over the next decade, it's not taking into account the worst polluters or even all the pollutants, conservation groups say, hampering the state's pristine natural areas and leaving its people breathing dirtier air. North Carolina, along with every other state, is currently putting together implementation plans for the Clean Air Act’s Regional Haze Rule, which requires federal and state authorities to work together to identify and address sources of air pollution in national parks and other areas, a release from the National Parks Conservation Association says.
