Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T is partnering with the NC Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation to award stipends of up to $1,000 to 20 community gardens throughout North Carolina as part of a larger food security program for community gardens across the state. The stipends must be used for community garden enhancements and/or COVID-19 related purchases. Applications must be submitted by June 11, 2021.

To be eligible, gardeners must participate in an online COVID-19 Response Training. The training teaches gardeners how to develop their own Garden Response Plan and food handling and donate best practices and other resources to operate safely and healthily.
