Agriculture has long been plagued by labor woes, not only because of the backbreaking labor that many won’t do, but because of the seasonal nature of the work. With an entire year’s crop at stake over the ability to find help during crucial times, farmers had to develop a plan. “With all this,” said apple grower Benny Arrington, as he gestured toward his fields where 75 acres of apple trees needed to be tended and harvested, “you don’t just hope help will show up when you need it.” For more of this story, click here.
