In a way, Sean and Shari Donahue are returning to what they know as they open Surf City Farm, a farm-and-market business in Pender County, this weekend. When Sean Donahue was growing up in rural Connecticut, people either worked on farms or at the local prison. Although agriculture was a big part of his teenage years — when he helped friends and neighbors after school or full time during the summer — he chose the Department of Corrections for his livelihood as an adult.
