House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott joined several Democratic lawmakers in the House and Senate in voicing concern on recent reports of the Biden Administration considering exempting oil refiners of their obligations under the Clean Air Act’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS):

“I join my fellow Ag Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow and my House and Senate colleagues in expressing concern over the Administration considering exempting oil refiners of their obligations under the Clean Air Act’s RFS,” said Chairman David Scott“It is imperative that we continue to work to protect the environment through actions such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and diversifying our fuel supply. I fear that should this decision be made during this critical time for our nation and planet it would have negative impacts on not only the environment, but also in our agriculture sector, including America’s corn farmers and the rural communities supported by our ethanol plants”
