New conservation executive director educates on importance of agriculture in rural communities

Amanda Egdorf-Sand and her husband have lived in Randleman since 2009, moving to the state in 2006 and leaving the small, suburban Minnesota town of Chaska. Egdorf-Sand remembers the town as rural and agricultural but she also remembers watching as it gradually changed into an urban area. That meant the loss of farmland and livelihoods that were generations in the making, and she no longer recognized the town of her youth.
