The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games logo is pictured outside the Tokyo station in Tokyo on June 22. When the Olympics begin in Tokyo, Japan on July 21, North Carolina will be well represented. According to data compiled by WUNC, 32 athletes and coaches with connections to the Tar Heel State will be competing at the delayed summer games. The 2020 Summer Olympics were supposed to have been held in 2020, but were postponed to an odd year, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
