Meet the new WNC Farmers Market manager

Phil Jacobus has started his career with the NCDA&CS as the new manager of operations/marketing at the Western North Carolina Farmers Market in Asheville. He started June 1, and has jumped right in to implement innovative programs to connect western North Carolina farmers to customers who live in the greater Asheville community and beyond. 

Phil grew up in Florida and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, focusing on marketing. He earned his MBA from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn., specializing in sustainability. He’s worked in marketing for many years, including work in advertising agencies, wireless telecommunications and agricultural real estate. He most recently worked for eight years in retail operations with The Fresh Market based in Greensboro, N.C.
