The manure runs deep on the internet, especially on TikTok where bogus claims are spreading that falsely claim farmers are being paid to destroy their crops. In one video a man shows an envelope from the Farm Service Agency office in Broken Bow but then shows a letter from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, a separate agency. "It's on government paper," the man in the video says, but he does not mention the January 2018 date on the letter nor does he mention that NDEQ has changed its name and is now the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy.
