Sweet potato growers hope for the best following Hurricane Ida

Following Hurricane Ida, which landed Sunday as a Category 4 hurricane and has since been downgraded to a tropical depression, sweet potato growers for the most part are waiting to find out what the effects of the weather event are. In Mississippi, some sweet potato growing areas have received 4+ inches of rain from Ida, even more in some locations. Reports also showed that some fields were under water for a few hours.
