Lawmakers will hold public hearings this month in each of the state's 13 congressional districts as they get ready to draw new maps for legislative and congressional voting districts. The hearings will give voters a chance to tell lawmakers what’s important to them, Western Carolina University political science professor Chris Cooper said Tuesday. "Perhaps they can talk about places they see as communities of interest that they may not want to be split [between districts]," Cooper said. For more of this story, click here.
