Wildlife rabies vaccination program with 500,000 baits to start in October in WNC

A new program to help prevent the spread of rabies among wildlife in Western North Carolina will be launched at the beginning of October. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced is working with the United States Department of Agriculture to distribute oral rabies vaccine for wild raccoons along western North Carolina’s borders with Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia.
