Vick Family Farms was eager to begin the 2021 sweet potato harvest mid-September as harvest was a few weeks late for North Carolina due to weather challenges during the planting and early growing season. “To date we are about 50 percent completed with our harvest and for now it looks like an average crop yield-wise and our quality looks very good,” said Charlotte D. Vick, partner/sales and marketing manager for the Wilson, NC-based company. “The 2020-21 season has had many obstacles with weather, COVID-19, supply chain issues and especially labor.”
