This is a meeting organized by Rod Gurganus, County Extension Director in Beaufort County.  I thought you might find of interest.

Fertilizer prices are skyrocketing, with no end in sight.  Make plans to join us Friday, November 5th, at 8AM for an important zoom meeting about using fertilizers more efficiently for corn, wheat, and soybean production.
Speakers:

=        Dr. Stephanie Kulesza will talk about maximizing the efficiency of poultry litter.

=        Dr. Deanna Osmond will go over the results of a study conducted with farmers looking at nitrogen rates for corn and wheat.

=        Dr. Luke Gattiboni will discuss the reasons for rising fertilizer prices, and how you can be more efficient with phosphorus in crop production.

=        Dr. Nick Piggott will demonstrate his crop cost inflation tool (click on "crop comparison tool" here: https://cals.ncsu.edu/are-extension/crops-marketing-and-logistics/grain-marketing/) to show you how to use it to determine your crop mix for next year.

=        Dr. Ron Heiniger will talk about the economics involved in deciding your crop mix, as well as managing nitrogen for corn production.
