Inflation causes new hardships for rural NC communities

 The steady rise in the cost of everyday goods across the United States is putting additional strain on rural areas in North Carolina. Inflation on consumer goods in the U.S. jumped by 6.2 percent last month, and when compared with October 2020, it was the biggest single-month, year-over-year spike since 1990, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
