Hearing outlines concerns with stagnant U.S. ag trade policy

The last time the United States implemented a new free trade agreement was in 2012. “That’s nearly 10 years of inactivity,” shared South Dakota soy and corn farmer Kevin Scott during a House Agriculture subcommittee hearing on trade priorities. Scott and others who testified called for the Biden administration to take a more proactive stance on building and expanding market opportunities for U.S. agricultural producers, including a unanimous call for rejoining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific.
