Dear extended CAES family and friends,

November brings a season of gratitude. For the families and friends who are brought together, to the food being served, to the traditions we celebrate, there are many reasons to be thankful.

I, too, am deeply grateful for all that we have accomplished together in this uniquely challenging period. In spite of the pandemic, we have provided a top-level educational experience to our students; launched a new Ph.D. program, emerged as the university’s leader in externally funded research, and expanded vital support to the communities we serve across the North Carolina through Cooperative Extension, both in-person and online. I thank each of you for your role in our success.

Thank you, students. I appreciate your passion and your perseverance to excel and overcome the obstacles posed by COVID-19.

Thank you, alumni. You are our best ambassadors. I am grateful for your excellence and your devotion to the CAES.

Thank you, faculty and staff. You recognize that your expertise and service are needed now more than ever and you have gone above and beyond to serve our state and our students. Your work, and your dedication, makes me proud.

Thank you, Advisory Board. Your expertise has helped us identify new ways to increase our impact, and your advice has been invaluable to me and the college.

Thank you, legislators, industry partners and friends in the business community. In these difficult times, we appreciate your advocacy and support of our college.

I am personally thankful for each of you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
