Chairman David Scott of Georgia and Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit Subcommittee Chair Antonio Delgado released the following statement congratulating Rostin Behnam on his confirmation as Chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

“I would like to congratulate Rostin Behnam on his confirmation as the Chair of CFTC.  I have had the good fortune of working closely with him last congress while EU cross border equivalence was being negotiated during which time his talent and leadership proved essential to our success.  I am glad to have such a brilliant mind at the helm of the CFTC and look forward to our continued engagement as our House Agriculture Committee works with the CFTC,” said Chairman David Scott.

“I’m also encouraged by President Biden’s nomination of Summer Mersinger and Caroline Pham to serve on the CFTC. Having a full slate of commissioners at CFTC ensures our financial markets have thorough oversight and are working for the American people," Chairman David Scott continued.

“Congratulations to Mr. Behnam on his unanimous confirmation as Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. I look forward to working with him this Congress,” said Rep. Antonio Delgado, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit.

“The CFTC’s work is critical to the health of our financial system and agricultural markets, and the CFTC has an important role to play in managing emerging sectors like digital assets. I have enjoyed speaking with Mr. Behnam in his role as Acting Chairman, and was glad to see our colleagues in the Senate come together on a bipartisan basis to confirm his nomination," Rep. Antonio Delgado added.
