In the Fall issue of the NC State Economist, Assistant Extension Professor Robert Andrew Branan (JD) reviews the policies that supported North Carolina’s advancement in solar electricity generating capacity and how utility procurement policy has evolved. He also reviews policy development and costs of the eventual decommission and disposal of the estimated half-million tons of solar panels over the next forty years.
